Butyllithium from Albemarle is critical to the rubber and plastics industries as an anionic initiator for polyisoprene, polybutadiene and butadiene/styrene copolymers. Additionally, butyllithium is an increasingly valuable tool in the organic synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), agrochemicals, and electronic materials.
